Customize your Finitu experience with profile settings, theme preferences, security options, and notification controls. Settings apply to your personal account.

Profile Settings

Manage your personal profile information:

Updating Your Profile:

Open Settings

Click your profile avatar in the top-right, then select 'Settings'.

Edit Profile

Update your name, phone, or click 'Upload Avatar' to add a profile picture.

Save Changes

Click 'Save' to apply your changes. Some changes take effect immediately.

Add a profile picture to help teammates recognize you in comments, task assignments, and the user directory.

Theme Preferences

Customize the app's appearance:

  • Light Mode: Bright interface, best for well-lit environments
  • Dark Mode: Darker colors, reduces eye strain in low light
  • System: Automatically matches your device settings

Pro Tip

The 'System' option is great if your device automatically switches between light and dark mode based on time of day.

Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication:

Navigate to Security

Go to Settings → Security and find the Two-Factor Authentication section.

Choose Method

Select 'Authenticator App' (recommended) or 'Email Codes'. Authenticator apps are more secure.

Complete Setup

Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or verify your email for email codes.

Save Recovery Codes

Download and securely store your recovery codes. You'll need these if you lose access to your 2FA method.

Important

Keep your recovery codes in a safe place! If you lose access to your 2FA device and don't have recovery codes, you may be locked out of your account.

Active Sessions

View and manage devices where you're logged in:

  • See browser, device, and location for each session
  • View when each session was last active
  • Click 'Revoke' to log out a session you don't recognize
  • Use 'Revoke All' to log out everywhere except current device

Important

If you see sessions you don't recognize, revoke them immediately and change your password. Someone may have access to your account.

Notification Preferences

Control how you receive notifications:

Notification Channels:

  • In-App: Notifications in your Inbox (always on)
  • Push: Browser/device push notifications
  • Email: Email notifications for important events

Configurable Notifications:

  • Task assignments
  • Task mentions
  • Task due reminders
  • Task completions (for subscribed tasks)
  • Comment replies
  • System announcements

Pro Tip

Enable push notifications for timely alerts. You can always customize which types of notifications you receive.

Scenario 1

Securing Your Account After a Device Loss

You lost your phone and need to protect your account immediately.

  1. Log in from another device and go to Settings → Security.
  2. Open 'Active Sessions' and revoke all sessions except the current one.
  3. Change your password immediately.
  4. If you had 2FA on your lost device, use recovery codes to maintain access.
  5. Re-enable 2FA on your new device once you have one.
Scenario 2

Setting Up Notifications for a New Role

You've been promoted to team lead and need relevant notifications.

  1. Go to Settings → Notification Preferences.
  2. Enable notifications for task assignments and completions.
  3. Turn on push notifications for timely alerts on your phone.
  4. Subscribe to key tasks or projects you need to monitor.
  5. Adjust email notification frequency to avoid inbox overload.
Scenario 3

Switching to Dark Mode for Night Shifts

You work night shifts and want to reduce eye strain.

  1. Open Settings and find Theme Preferences.
  2. Select 'Dark Mode' for a permanent dark theme.
  3. Or select 'System' to automatically switch based on your device settings.
  4. The change takes effect immediately across all pages.
  5. Your preference is saved and persists across sessions.
